Proud of Being Me

I am myself, no one else.
I am proud of who I am,
who I love,
what I love,
what I believe in,
and what I stand for.

I am who I am
because I was born
being who I am.
The Goddess and The God
made me this way.
I love myself just the way I am.

I wear black because it's me,
not because I'm a satanist supposedly.
I listen to metal because it's me,
not because I'm being rebellious supposedly.
I believe in LGBT rights because it's in me,
not because I'm following a trend supposedly.
I believe in women and children's rights cuz it's me,
not just because I'm a liberal, really.
I am a wiccan because it's me
because The Goddess lives within me.
I am hispanic because it's me,
and that's the way life wanted me to be.
I am a woman- it suits me well-
it was totally my destiny!
I'm a young mother because it's me
and it's the gift life gave me.

I love the way I am.
I love what I came to be.
I love the person I am.
I'm proud of being me.

How could I love someone else
if I couldn't love myself?
I love who I am.
I care not what haters think.
They can talk shit all they want,
for they don't love who they are.
They're ashamed of themselves.
I'll keep my head up high
and stay true to myself
and the ones I love.
I love being me.
